Auld Lang Syne

'Auld Lang Syne' ist ein berühmtes Gedicht von Robert Burns (1759 bis 1796), einem schottischen Dichter.

Das im Scots-Dialekt verfaßte Gedicht (englisch: 'old long since', 'längst vergangene Zeit') wurde mit einer traditionellen Volksmelodie vertont und wird heute in Schottland und anderen englischsprachigen Ländern zum Jahreswechsel (Hogmanay bzw. New Year's Eve) gesungen, um der Verstorbenen des vergegangenen Jahres zu gedenken. Zudem ist es ein beliebtes Lied auf Abschiedsfeiern und zum Abschluss von Veranstaltungen, z.B.:

- Abschlusslied von Veranstaltungen der Pfadfinderbewegung

- Abschlusslied eines berühmten Burns Supper.

- Abschlusslied der Last Night of the Proms
