Nationalhymne von England & Großbritannien
England (Vereinigtes Königreich / Großbritannien) hat keine eigene Nationalhymne. Für offizielle Anlässe wird die britische Nationalhymne God save the Queen verwendet.
God save the Queen (bzw. 'God save the King') ist seit Anfang des 19. Jh. die offizielle Nationalhymne des Vereinigten Königreichs Großbritannien und Nordirland und außerdem die Königshymne der Commonwealth Realms. Alternative Nationalhymnen sind Rule, Britannia!, 'Land of Hope and Glory', Jerusalem, 'I vow to Thee', 'My Country' etc.
Die Urheberschaft von God save the Queen ist umstritten.
God save our gracious Queen,

Rule, Britannia! ist ein Lied des englischen Komponisten Thomas Augustine Arne. Der Text stammt von James Thomson und David Mallet.
'Land of Hope and Glory' besteht aus dem Text von Arthur C. Benson und einer Melodie aus dem Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 von Edward Elgar.
Der Text von Jerusalem stammt von William Blake, die Melodie von Hubert Parry.
